Services

We are a full service small animal veterinary hospital. We provide medical services for dogs and cats as well as exotic pets such as birds, ferrets, rabbits, reptiles, and pocket pets. We have appointments available six days a week.

Preventative Care

The most important aspect of preventative health care is the Annual Physical Examination. We can detect and recommend treatment for many conditions before they become a serious problem. If you have an older pet, these all-important examinations can be done twice a year. We also can perform any necessary vaccinations at this time. Screening for heartworm and intestinal parasites, as well as monitoring body weight should all be done once each year.

Dental Care

We can examine your pet’s teeth and make sure that this often-overlooked area is in good shape. Broken teeth, tartar build-up, gum disease or even tumors in the mouth can be serious and often painful problems that your pet is hiding from you. In many cases there are no symptoms or maybe you only notice a breath odor. Good dental care can greatly enhance your pet’s quality of life. In December 2012 we added a digital dental x-ray machine to our facility – giving us even greater diagnostic capabilities.

Behavior Counseling

If you have a pet with some bad habits, a destructive dog or a cat refusing to use the litter box, we can help. Possibly the problem is a hidden medical condition. Even if your pet is in perfect health, we can work with you on behavior modification techniques or medications if necessary. Don’t let bad behavior interfere with the bond you have with your pet.

Nutritional Therapy

Many issues, from weight control to diabetes, can be addressed with nutritional therapy. We can provide high quality prescription diets to keep your pet in the best condition possible.

Pharmacy

We maintain a well-stocked veterinary pharmacy to provide immediate treatment for almost any condition. Unlike those on the internet, all of our heartworm and flea preventatives come directly from the manufacturer and carry the manufacturer’s guarantee. Also unlike the internet, our staff is available to check correct dosing or demonstrate administration, all for same or only slightly higher price.

Internal Medicine

We are dedicated to providing the highest quality in veterinary medical service. We offer on site radiology (X-ray), cytology (microscopic cell exam), blood and urine analysis, to assist in making the correct diagnosis. We also utilize advanced outside diagnostic laboratories when necessary.

Surgery

Our facility houses a well equipped operating room that includes isoflurane anesthesia machines, blood pressure and pulse oximetry monitoring equipment, circulating water warming blanket, electrocautery device, autoclave sterilized surgical instruments and most importantly a well trained staff. Our doctors use “asceptic technique” that includes surgical scrub, sterile gloves and gown, and a cap and mask. Our surgical services range from neutering to major soft tissue and orthopedic repairs.

Exotic Pet Medicine

We extend our care and treatment to many other species including: birds, lizards, turtles and small mammals such as rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, hedgehogs, sugar gliders and gerbils. These “exotic” pets often have unique medical problems that require individualized medical treatments.
